Detail B4 — Ecommerce SEO

Get your products found before your competitors' are.

Shop SEO is different from SEO for a services site. You have hundreds of near-identical pages, filters that create endless addresses, and products that come and go. We sort out the structure, make your category and product pages worth ranking, and get your product data in shape for Google Shopping and AI assistants.

Notes — Where shops go wrong

Common problems we fix.

  1. 01Product descriptions copied from the supplier, word for word the same as on dozens of other shops.
  2. 02Thousands of filter combinations indexed by Google, each one a thin copy of the category page.
  3. 03Category pages with a grid of products and no words, so Google can't tell what they're about.
  4. 04Out-of-stock products deleted, taking their links and rankings with them.
Specification — Beyond Google

Found in more than one place.

  • Google SearchCategory and product pages ranking in the normal results.
  • Google ShoppingFree product listings and Shopping results from an accurate product feed.
  • AI assistantsClean product data that assistants like ChatGPT and Gemini can read and recommend.
General notes — FAQ

Questions about ecommerce SEO.

How is this different from your other SEO work?

The method is the same, but shops have their own problems: filters, duplicate products, stock that changes and product feeds. This retainer focuses on those, and sits under the same monthly arrangement as our other SEO work.

We have thousands of products. Do you write every description?

No. We start with the products and categories that bring in the most revenue, and set up templates so the rest improve too. Where unique copy matters most, we write it.

How long before we see results?

Fixes to structure and product data can show within weeks. Ranking category pages for busy searches usually takes several months of steady work.
