Detail A — Search, answers, citations

Get found on Google, on Maps and in AI answers.

People still search on Google. More of them now also ask ChatGPT, Perplexity or Google's AI Overviews, and go with the first answer they get. We work on your website, your Google Business Profile and how your business is described across the web, so you show up in all three places.

Notes — Three names, one job

SEO, AEO and GEO, in plain English.

  • SEO: ranking on GoogleSearch engine optimisation. Getting your pages listed near the top when someone searches for what you sell.
  • AEO: being the answerAnswer engine optimisation. Writing pages so the answer to a customer's question is easy to find and quote, for Google's AI Overviews, voice assistants and chatbots.
  • GEO: being recommended by AIGenerative engine optimisation. Making sure assistants like ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity know your business, describe it correctly and mention it when people ask for a recommendation.
Table A — What the retainer covers

What we work on each month.

The three overlap a lot. A fast site that Google can read, clear answers to real questions and the same facts about you everywhere help all of them. So it's one retainer, and we put the hours where they'll do the most good for your business.

A.1Included

Technical health

We fix what stops Google and AI crawlers reading your site: slow pages, broken links, pages missing from the index, missing structured data.

A.2Included

Local presence

Your Google Business Profile, your listings and the details that decide whether you appear on Google Maps.

A.3Included

Question research

What your customers search for and ask before they buy, and which of those questions your site doesn't answer yet.

A.4Included

Pages that answer

New and improved pages that answer those questions clearly, in your voice.

A.5Included

AI visibility

We check what ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google's AI Overviews say about you, then fix the gaps and mistakes at the source.

A.6Included

Mentions

Getting your business listed and described on the sites Google and AI assistants trust for your trade: directories, associations, suppliers and partners.

A.7Included

Monthly report

A short report: what we did, what changed and what we'll do next. No jargon, no 40-page PDF.

Table A2 — How it runs

An audit first, then steady work every month.

Search changes all the time and results build up over months, so this runs as a monthly retainer.

  1. R0Start

    Audit

We look at your site, your Google Business Profile, your competitors and what AI assistants say about you today. You get a short list of what's holding you back, worst first.

  2. R1Start

    Plan

We agree priorities with you, starting with the fixes and pages most likely to bring in enquiries.

  3. R2Every month

    Work

We work through the plan: technical fixes, new and better pages, listings and mentions.

  4. R3Every month

    Report

What moved in Google, on Maps and in AI answers, how many enquiries came from search, and what's next.

What we won't promise.

  1. 01We don't guarantee rankings or AI mentions. Google and the AI companies decide who to show, and they change how they decide several times a year. Anyone who guarantees a position is guessing.
  2. 02What we do promise is the work: a site search engines can read, answers to the questions your customers ask, and accurate facts about your business wherever they appear.
  3. 03You'll see every change we make in the monthly report, with the reason for it.
General notes — FAQ

Questions about SEO, AEO and GEO.

How long before we see results?

It depends on where you're starting and how crowded your market is. Technical fixes and a complete Google Business Profile can make a difference within weeks. Ranking for competitive searches usually takes several months of steady work. We'll give you an honest view after the audit.

What's the difference between SEO, AEO and GEO?

SEO gets your pages ranked on Google. AEO makes the answers on those pages easy to quote. GEO makes sure AI assistants such as ChatGPT know your business and recommend it. Most of the groundwork is shared, which is why we do all three in one retainer.

Do we need a new website first?

Usually not. Most sites can be improved where they are. If yours is very slow, hard to edit or built in a way search engines struggle to read, we'll say so after the audit and explain your options.

Is it a one-off project or ongoing?

Ongoing. SEO is a monthly retainer: the audit and first fixes come at the start, then we keep working and reporting each month. Website migrations are the exception. They're a one-off project, quoted separately.

What does it cost?

It depends on the size of your site, how competitive your market is and how much needs fixing. We'll quote a monthly fee once we've looked at your site.

Do you work with businesses outside the UK?

Yes. We work with businesses anywhere, in English.
